Garden City is a village of Hempstead in Central Nassau County, New York. It was founded by multi-millionaire Alexander Turney Stewart in 1869. The Garden City Name applies to several other unincorporated nearby dominions. In the region, hamlets such as Garden City South, Garden City Park and East Garden City are adjacent to the incorporated village of Garden City, but are not themselves apart of it.

Garden City was one of Americas earliest planned villages, with wide avenues, hundreds of trees and shrubs, sixty well-built homes on spacious lots, a handsome hotel on a 30-acre park – all reached via its own railroad line, A.T. Stewart’s Central Railroad of Long Island. The village has a reputation for beautiful tree-lined streets are known throughout the nation. Each year, over 100 new trees are planted and hundreds more are pruned. Garden City is home to over 9 parks and several other recreational facilities. Although these parks add beauty to Garden City, they are home to a diverse array of wildlife such as raccoons, opossums, squirrels, insects and rodents, which given the opportunity can become unwanted pests within your home.
